Oeko-Tex® Association

The International Oeko-Tex® Association, a grouping of 14 well-known textile research and test institutes in Europe and Japan, with representative agencies and contact offices in over 40 countries worldwide, is responsible for the independent tests for harmful substances according to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100.

Based on their individual core competences, the Oeko-Tex® member institutes with their broad and varied range of activities, provide significant impetus for innovations within the textile and clothing industry. Together with the manufacturers, they also contribute to a large extent to the development of high quality textile products at all stages of production with their testing system.

The institutes' many years of experience and testing expertise also forms the basis for the joint continued development of the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, which has been continually optimised and extended ever since its introduction thanks to technical expertise concerning textile production, and scientific findings from the fields of chemistry, medicine and associated areas of research.
