Prerequisites

In order to be entitled to mark and advertise textile products with the Oeko-Tex® label, all components, including accessories, must satisfy the requirements of the criteria catalogue without exception. The Oeko-Tex® certificate issued is evidence of this.

Manufactured end products usually require their own test number, even if all components have already been successfully tested and certified according to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100.

For bedding covers, it should be noted that because of the different distribution channels of cover manufacturers and manufacturers of filling materials, the Oeko-Tex® label may only be attached on the outside if both the cover and filling have been successfully tested according to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100.

Products such as upholstery fabrics for three-piece suites, which cannot in their entirety be covered by the Oeko-Tex® criteria catalogue, represent a special case. The product as a whole must not be visibly marked with the Oeko-Tex® label in order to avoid misleading the consumer.
